We sort of stumbled into becoming flower farmers!

My husband and #1 farmhand generously built me a raised flower bed several years ago. So, I took myself to a big box store and bought several potted flowers that looked pretty on the tag, planted them in my new flower bed, waited for them to mature . . . and then realized none of them were “cutting flower” types! Ugh! Then while perusing books at the gift shop at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens I found a small, paperback book that walked us step-by-step through how to plant a real cutting garden, and it worked! I was hooked and a flower farmer was born.

We bought the land that is now our home (in May!) and flower farm, and spent the next few years clearing the trees and building the health of our soil. During that time I spent countless hours taking flower and farming courses, reading books, watching farming videos, listening to podcasts, and growing flowers. As soon as the flowers are in bloom this spring, we will finally be ready to share our flowers with our community! We look forward to meeting our new neighbors and soon-to-be-flower-friends like you!
